What's a laptop pillow?
A laptop pillow is a cushion to place between your laptop and your legs when working from a sofa, armchair, bed or even from the floor. Its purpose is to make it more comfortable to lean your laptop on your legs, protecting them from the laptop's hard surface, possible heat and side effects from the exposure of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) being emitted by most electronic devices such as laptops and tablets.
How does it work?
We designed our laptop pillows to feature a layer of electromagnetic shielding lining just underneath the outer fabric.
What's the laptop pillow's composition?
Our capsule collection feature velvet (100% polyester), EMF fabric (80% Nylon, 20% Silver) and filling (100% Polyester). Our first EMF fabric had a different composition (65% Polyester, 28% Copper, 7% Nickel). Even though we had no issue with the previous fabric and was more resistant to machine washes, we decided to transition away from Nickel as we realised some customers were not comfortable with it. Luckily there are many incredibly protective EMF fabrics out there. For transparency, the switch to silver-based EMF led to an increase in pricing.
Can I wash it?
Yes, our laptop pillows are machine washable at 30ºC, preferably on a ‘Delicates’ cycle with cool water. They can also be wiped clean with a damp cloth. We firmly discourage using a tumble dryer. Bear in mind our new EMF fabric is rather delicate and needs to be washed only with TexCare® or pH neutral detergent.
Can I use it as a head pillow?
Of course. Our laptop pillows can be used as decorative pillows, children and pet pillows too.
Can I buy it in a physical store?
At the moment we are a very small business and sell only directly to our customers online. We are considering wholesale opportunities and we will be updating this section regularly. Check our LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok profiles to stay up to date.
Do you sell on other websites?
At the moment we sell exclusively on our website, naivenomore.com and Etsy. Starting in Fall 2020, we had the opportunity to sell our first collection on goolp.it, a wonderful Italian gifting website. If you're based in the Italian market, take a look and see if there's any stocks available there as it might be more convenient for you to receive the item directly from Italy due to the fact we are a UK-based business.
How did you come up with this product?
During the first UK lockdown in Spring 2020, we had the opportunity to start sketching and prototyping various laptop pillows ideas. At first we never expected this idea to become reality as it was mainly something we wanted to use ourselves. Fast forward to October 2020, we were live with our website and our first capsule collection of two laptop pillows. Seeing customers and wholesalers all over the world interested in Naïve No More is still a major 'pinch me moment' for us.
